Here’s a great post about Top Coats! She tried 10 different top coats and judged them based on:
-Thickness: score 1-3★ (1 being thin and 3 being as thick as Seche Vite)
-Dry time: score 1-5★ (1 being not dry and 5 dry to the touch), each top coat was allowed to dry for 1 minute, then I lightly brushed over it with my finger to test how dry it was
-Smearage: score 1-5★ (1 being lots of smearing and 5 being none) for 3 dots of Sally Hansen Black Out, a stripe of Milani black nail art polish and a dot of China Glaze Liquid Leather (each will get their own score), these were allowed to dry for a minimum of one minute before the top coat was applied
-Shrinkage: score 1-5★ (1 lots of shrinkage, 5 no shrinkage)
-Shine: score 1-5★ (1 not so shiny, 5 very shiny), each was scored at the beginning and again at the end
-Overall wear: score 1-5★ (1 poor with lots of wear and/or chipping, 5 excellent wear with no chipping)

I decided to do an experiment.  I took 10 different top coats, put one on each finger and took some notes.  I used a generous coat of Cult Nails Get it On base coat on each nail and painted two coats of China Glaze White on White.

Here are the categories I judged each on:
-Thickness: score 1-3★ (1 being thin and 3 being as thick as Seche Vite)
-Dry time: score 1-5★…
